Re-use, re-cycle, Re-Jewel®
Using something old to make something new is not groundbreaking but is extremely relevant these days. The very nature of jewellery allows me to break it down into its components and re-work it into something new - I call this concept Re-Jewel® .
Since teaching myself how to make beaded jewellery as a kid, I have always loved the idea of making a piece of jewellery, taking it apart and making something else. That still holds true for me today, but I have found a few more reasons to make Re-Jewel® my goal where possible.
Helping the environment
Re-using old metal and gemstones has become important for environmental, sentimental and economic reasons. So many people have a box full of jewellery that they have collected, been given or has been handed down and my thoughts are, if you have it – use it!
The only precious metal that is hard to re-use is white gold. If it white gold that you want to re-use then we can use it as credit towards the new piece as white gold can't easily be reworked.
Re-use your old gold
Working with clients' old materials I have designed and created new engagement and wedding sets, pendants, earrings, bracelets and brooches. If you have old metal and/or gemstones and would like to talk to me about creating something new, I will help you figure out what is possible and take you through the process.
The entire process can take from 4-6 weeks. Any unused materials are returned to you or may be used as a credit towards the cost of your new piece.
