Meet Kim Drosdick - Jewellery Designer
About Kim Drosdick
I LOVE JEWELLERY, BUT YOU PROBABLY ALREADY GUESSED THAT!
I have been making jewellery since I was 7. I am the happiest when I’m getting my hands dirty to create something truly beautiful using and re-using existing metals and gemstones. I live in Toronto, Parkdale specifically, with my husband and 2 little boys! I love being outdoors, being transported by cinema and enjoying a well-deserved bowl of coffee ice cream. If I hadn't found jewellery I guess I would have been a carpenter.
WHY WORK WITH ME?...PASSION, HONESTY + LOVE.
Creating the perfect piece of jewellery can be overwhelming and difficult. It doesn't have to be! From my boutique studio in downtown Toronto, passion for design, honesty in life and love of what I do are the qualities I bring each client I work with.
From custom engagement + wedding rings to re-working old jewellery, ready-to-wear-collections to repairs, I listen, understand and get to the heart of what it is that you are looking for. I help you tell your story. Need more? Read my reviews here!
BIO
An eye for nature
‘Do what you love’ is what I always say! I am one of the lucky few who are able to do that every day. Inspired at every turn, I am drawn to natural shapes, clean lines, simple forms and textures. I pay attention to what makes me happy and go from there. The result is a body of work that is classically elegant with a modern and playful twist.
Career beginnings
As a graduate of the Jewellery Arts program at George Brown College in 2001, I began my career at Toronto’s Made You Look designing exceptional pieces for clients. After 6 years and a great deal of real-world learning I ventured out and co-created flux + form continuing to do what I love. Fast-forward 15 years as a part of f+f, I am now currently kicking it exclusively as Kim Drosdick Jewellery in Roncesvalles Village since 2021!
Trained to work with almost every material and request imaginable, I create wearable works of art using platinum, gold and silver incorporating diamonds, gemstones and re-cycled materials. I love being able to re-use precious materials - it feels good in my soul. I call it 'Re-Jewel'.
In the media
I make everything from custom made engagement & wedding rings to silver wire chokers, cuffs and bangles to elaborate re-production pieces for films. I have been fortunate enough to have had my jewellery featured in commercials, television, and in print as well as feature films.
